Grid Tied Solar.
Grid Tied Solar in about the most simple of the solar energy systems. This is because the energy generated on the PV Array is not stored in a battery system. Energy is created on the PV Array, this energy is then fed into an inverter. The inverter converts the Solar Energy from high voltage DC Current, into usable AC Current at 230 Volts. This is the same as the electricity which comes out of the wall sockets in our homes.
The problem with grid tied solar is that the solar energy is only created during the daytime. No solar energy is created at night. During the day the solar energy that is created on the PV Array must be used there and then or else it will go to waste. Normally, unless prevented by additional equipment any unused solar energy is exported back to the national grid. Sometimes we can get a payment for this but nowadays this payment is very small.
It makes sense to program home appliances to come on during the sunny times of the day 11:00 – 15.00 this will ensure they energy they consume will come from the solar panels on the roof and not from the national grid. Depending on the size of the Solar Panel Array you can program the appliances to come on simultaneously one one after the other. This will ensure that you get the most out of your solar PV System.
You can optionally add additional equipment, such as Solar iBoost or Immersun Units these units will divert any excess solar energy to water heating systems. Such as an immersion heater. This ensures all the energy available is used and maximises your self consumption of the free solar energy.
We have a number of Grid Tied PV Kits available to buy straight off the shelf. Alternatively, we can modify kits to meet your exact requirements. Please contact us if you need any further assistance.
